What do I see all around me?
A world of acceptance.
A world of no abstinence.
We are told it's okay,
we are told what to say.
How to act
with little if any tact.
If you need some help
to get out of your mess
for the right price
some will confess.
Hold your hands open and ask for a dollar.
Keep your mouth closed you better not holla!
Takin' you for what you got
a problem now that they have sought
for fame, fortune, and some shame
their music and wardrobe are so lame.
No role model, no scholar
poppin' a dingy, stained collar
criticizing about what you can't see
fakin' friendship with someone like me.
Kind people are no secret, no lie
take advantage of them and make them cry.
Always lookin' for the next best thing
makin' idols of people who can't sing.
What are we livin' for?
To spend more money at a store!
Who are we fightin' for?
a friend or a foe.
Whose really behind all the show?
Give me a moment to catch my breath
before evil puts me to death.
I want to live right,
but sometimes it's not in me.
When I do right,
they don't help me.
Negative words beginning to stack,
wonder why I won't call back.
Not interested in a lack of common sense
seems to keep my heart rate tense.
Would love to spend more time in joy.
Would love to sit down with my boy,
play cars and trucks for hours and hours,
but words come to me like rain showers.
Need to always vent and confess,
it relieves the pain and stress.
I hope for more love and better days
God bless me with your golden rays!

Saturday
God is in the Plan
God awoke me one day
I had nothing to say.
For I had a bad dream
and I couldn't scream.
Enemy told me that I would die.
I knew it was a big fat lie.
But weeks later my face was on the floor
Had no idea what I was in for.
God used me to send a simple sign
a single word over the phone line.
No one wanted to think the thought
but they forgot that I was bought.
God was in the plan
and I in His hand
a reminder to us
time is like quick sand.
Money Makes the Church Go Round
I had my head in the sand
when I held the paper in my hand.
It said "to come and visit me!"
I had to go couldn't wait to see!
There were smiling faces
more than in other places.
The Cross displayed proudly on a wall
The Bible, like Humpty, had a great fall!
For the anointed man didn't read from the Book.
Instead he passed the basket around
for he was a crook.
Winked to the drum man
looked at the choir
They were a part of his desire.
More money for him
More money for them.
The people danced.
The children pranced.
Nickels, dimes, pennies too!
He didn't care Gentile or Jew.
They say, "The preaching was real good!"
He didn't say a word that he should!
when I held the paper in my hand.
It said "to come and visit me!"
I had to go couldn't wait to see!
There were smiling faces
more than in other places.
The Cross displayed proudly on a wall

Bible Study Gone Wrong
Could it have been a test
I settled for less?
Gave God no glory.
All I had was a story
of how they hurt me
and what I failed to see.
Should have been more careful.
Should have held on to my key.
But I let them all in
while I drowned in my sin.
No one seemed to care
pointed at me in the chair.
Said I wasn't saved
denounced what I had craved.
I wasn't completely clean
but neither were they.
Still a work not finished yet
with a past He let me forget.
Nothing seemed to matter
all I heard was chatter.
So I knew what had to be done
went for the door
but couldn't run.
Someone else held the key
the best part of me.
I had let them in
while drowning in my sin.
Sometimes we make people the idols of our lives and that my dear friend is a sin.
"Thou shall not worship any idols..."
I settled for less?
Gave God no glory.
All I had was a story

Need an Honest Spiritual Teacher?
This kind of teaching isn't popular among today's church. That is why so many of us have fallen by the wayside. If you are interested in the truth, watch this man. He is a good example of the fire and brimstone type of teaching, but sometimes we need to be reminded of our roots. Watch the video.
