A calling on my life
what more do I have to give
how much more strife?
What does it take to be the best,
to pass tests
or even earn a place to rest?
Higher calling, do you have one
or do you prefer to just have fun?
A race we start young to run,
get old and complain, "I'm done."
Burdens start weighing a ton.
But we can't give up now,
we can't call foul!
God calling people to work,
lazy folks just lurk...
watching others do what they are told...
even when they are very old.
Talk too much about what they won't do,
while hoping to get blessed off a few.
This road with God isn't easy,
but money hoarders make it sleazy.
People want to know more,
seeking a church open door,
hope Jesus is on the other side,
take off their pride.
But when fools are the gatekeepers,
when they act like creepers
killing people spiritually,
saying God has no power...
yet Satan is on his last hour.
We can't help but to grab our sisters
and brothers from wayward fathers and mothers
and tell them just how loved they are,
whether near or far!
God loves you so much that he gave up his righteous Son,
brought him back to life and showed you the truth
will give you eternal life!

Stop and Pray
I was tired, didn't want to start my day.
So I got up, but I didn't pray.
I don't know why--I didn't know what to say?
And then things happened, crazy stuff,
I guess I had, had enough!
Glass broken all around me,
tiny fragments as far as the eye could see!
"That was me, that was me!" I thought.
For years, a merciful God I had sought.
Tears on a floor and a body left sore,
don't recall what was it I had been fighting for?
An issue without a cause,
didn't take the time to pause.
Now the world knows what is wrong,
and my story is far too long.
They don't care, observers just stare.
How did I come so far to turn back,
how did I lose it--blow my stack?
What spiritual gift did I lack?
It can happen to us all,
one day stand tall
then like Humpty take a great fall.
It can happen late at night or in the middle of the day
that is why it is best you stop and pray!

NOTE: This poem was inspired by a woman who recently had a nervous breakdown. Please pray for all those people who are suffering right now as a result of past trauma that has fragmented their minds, thank you.

Busy Bee: Time to Pause
With the beauty of spring and summer comes much landscaping. Plant life maintained, flowers watered, gardens tilled, lawns kept, and homes decorated. But with so much work, there is little time to admire the wonders of a great Creator.
Make the time to pause--stop and breathe this spring and summer. Life passes by so very quickly. Before long, you find yourself grieving over the death of someone or crying your eyes out from bodily pain while wishing you appreciated peaceful moments--quiet, a gentle breeze, birds singing, and the sun shining on your face.
Take a walk real soon, enjoy the fresh air and leave your troubles behind. Remember that even if you don’t care much about yourself, others do!
To God be the glory!

What Can I Say?
What can I say?
It was about the month of May
took the time to pray.
I had so much that I needed to say.
The Lord seemed far away.
I still had no wedding day.
And I cried and wished and all I could do was pray.
Said he was going to see that I would live true
no longer would I feel so blue.
Had been told since I was a little child
"Call God," so he was the one I dialed.
Angry because things weren't right,
felt I wasn't living up to God's sight.
I had put up a fight for years and years.
Had been hiding behind all my fears.
Had full control over little, misplaced me,
but little did I know there was more to see.
Didn't realize the strength beyond the skies.
Too busy believing fools and their lies.
You see sometimes we think we know,
we think sometimes but we don't go
that extra mile after we dial
then wonder why we collapse after a mile.
We need the help of God's great, big hands
because we know the devil runs many lands.
So what I can I say
until my wedding day?
To keep reaching out and simply just pray.

Sunday
He's Got Something for You
Got a million lines and a hundred signs
with few toys and four boys.
Got a place of peace and music to cease
the noise I hear when I feel fear.
Got a new view on life trying to stay away from strife.
Got a whole lot of wishes and a pond of fishes.
Cast my net below to see what grows
and hope through the process I won't doze.
Thinking of things and what the future will bring.
I have a small voice that sings
says, "You will be okay." Keep urging me to pray.
There is something bigger beyond a thought
if we consider ourselves nothing more than a dot.
You and I know we live life like a show,
until our final day we must go, go, go!
Say "hi" to a friend and hope it's not the end.
Say "bye" to a past and hope this time it will last.
Go to bed at night then wake up feeling alright.
Go about our day while that voice keeps urging us to pray.
He's got something for you, but what will you do
when the clock ticks and your heartbeat sticks?
When the time is right you will pray with all your might.
But will He listen when eyes no longer glisten?
Do you really know where your soul will go?
with few toys and four boys.

the noise I hear when I feel fear.

A Prayer for the Angry, Confused & Resentful
Dear Lord,
Forgive me for being angry yet again about something that could have been resolved in a different way. Teach me to be slow to anger. At times I so easily misunderstand what someone is trying to tell me. Sometimes I feel they are deliberately confusing me to get what they want. Lord you know the heart of man and woman deal with them accordingly. There are moments during the day that I resent people and wish that I could have a do-over again with my life. Help me to appreciate the people and choices I have made. In Jesus name, Amen.

Let Love Shine Upon a Face
Let love shine
upon a face
once filled with disgrace
when pain seemed too much to bear
when words were devoid of care
Let love shine upon a face!
No more running and feeling mad
crying alone looking sad
confused and acting bitter
displaying someone else's litter
Let love shine upon a face!
Days are so few
memories like morning grass dew
gone so very fast
good moments don't last.
So let love shine upon a face
be one of the first to finish the race
with arms held high
and a tear in your eye
wave goodbye to sadness
so long pain
God will stop all the rain!
Let love shine upon your face!
upon a face
once filled with disgrace
when pain seemed too much to bear
when words were devoid of care
Let love shine upon a face!
No more running and feeling mad
crying alone looking sad
